Take your Adventurous Journey to the next level by coming to New Zealand! Known for our stunning landscapes and natural environment, ExpedNZ can help you design an Adventurous Journey to experience the best of our region's stunning national parks, with a range of adventure activities to choose from.
Adventurous Journey Training and Assessment
You can complete your Adventurous Journey practice and/or qualifier and Gold Residential through ExpedNZ no matter where you are registered to achieve the Award. We will help you to co-design an Adventurous Journey at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels of the Award. We also work with local conservation groups if you would like to have an environmental focus to your activities. This could include assisting with traplines, restoration plantings or biodiversity monitoring.
A Range of Adventure Activities to Choose From
Run by our experienced and qualified educators, activities can include tramping, kayaking, caving, rock climbing, bush survival and mountain biking in any of our stunning, local National Parks. With access to various wilderness locations within 2 hours of our base we can design an experience to make the best of the seasonal conditions. We can provide all specialist gear and equipment. ExpedNZ are accredited providers of all adventure activities and you can rest assured we put Safety First.
Hiking / Tramping
There are plenty of beaches, valleys & ridgelines to explore within the 3 National Parks we can access from our base.
Rock Climbing
This is a challenging and rewarding adventure activity to build your skills & confidence in the outdoors.
Kayaking
A wonderful way to experience the Abel Tasman National Park or Nelson Lakes regions.
Bush Survival
Learn how to build survival shelters, light fires and grow your bush skills to become independent & safe in the outdoors.
Caving
The Takaka Hill is also known locally as the 'Marble Mountain' with some incredible cave systems to explore.
Mountain Biking
A fast-growing sport in our region there are lots of mountain bike tracks to access at various levels of the activity.
Running the Award for your School or Group
As the local hub leader, ExpedNZ can support other organisations to deliver the Award. If you think the Award is a good option for your school or group, contact us for more information and support. We can provide tailored Adventurous Journeys and Residential experiences for groups of 6 or more.
