Designed for younger adventurers, the Mini Outdoor Adventure programme helps to develop student’s self-confidence, resilience and team work skills.
Programme Overview
Make the outdoors your classroom for the day! Tamariki will take part in a range of fun activities that utilise the key elements of experiential learning to get the most out of every individual. The programme begins with some fun Adventure Based Learning (ABL) games to encourage a positive team culture. Through another set of games students will be introduced to basic navigation elements, ways to develop their resilience, confidence and problem-solving skills. Depending on student age the day will finish with a reflection exercise or story and time tea-time in the forest.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Develop resilience skills (coping with challenge and change)
- Develop belief in self and increasing confidence
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills while taking part in a variety of outdoor activities
- Show whanaungatanga through participating and contributing in a team and identifying the characteristics of a good team member
Please note: The order and type of activities may change due to weather or other safety reasons. Our educator team will communicate any changes with the teacher in charge.
